Ron’s finger on the mend

Bleeding through the bandages

Bleeding through the bandages

Thanks for your prayers. Only a couple more days and no more trips to the hospital. We were glad Tone and Ache could go with us. Ache is such a jokester that he told the doctor to cut off the finger as Ron had 4 extras! When I said to Ron that I wish it were me, I quickly changed it to I wish it were YOU! to Ache. He is not a translator but a young friend who is learning English. We call him our translator but that is a stretch. Tone was the other friend in the video and such a sweet spirit. He had his share of jokes to add. I picked up a mask at the registration desk a the man behind me was holding his stomach like he was sick so I thought it best to get a mask. The next day we got one for Ron as the waiting room was filled.

Bud has been dropping us off at the hospital each morning and we take the songtao home. The whole procedure takes 10 minutes. Unlike the  ER rooms back home. The first day when the nurse had finished and we were trying to convey we wanted to pay the 30B (.90 cents US) all the staff spoke more slowly to us so we would understand. We didn’t ‘get it’ so finally one nurse said, “go home” very emphatically! We laughed with the other staffers and left. Now we know that the 584B bill included the daily visits to rebandage.

My leg has improved and I’m not using the cane. My friend Sunshine wrote that massaging my thigh might help. Sure enough that seems to have done the trick. I can do that myself so it’s easy. Thank you for your concern and prayers.

  1. I could never have made a good nurse or doctor. Just this finger bleeding and I gagged! Get better soon.
