One week to go
We are thankful for all the great emails and notes on facebook about our upcoming time in Thailand. Yesterday we got our visas and today our shots! Typhoid, tetanus/diphtheria, and Hepatitis A.
We are volunteering for six weeks so it was strongly recommended that we take the precaution and get vaccinated. We both think it very strange indeed that with a higher (?) chance of contacting H1N1 flu, we couldn’t get that vaccine as Oregon doesn’t have it. Anyway, we’re supposed to be more immune because of our age.
We’ll we’re getting closer to being ready. Judy’s daughter Lacy is bringing over a suitcase of things for them tomorrow. Another gentleman brought a few large packs of seeds, various types of beans, for the garden. (a large nursery in town donated them for the cause)
By the way, we will be volunteering with www.remembernhu.org which is the organization that has taken up this project.
