8 All the way to Santa Fe

What a beautiful and interesting city. Our darling friends Danielle and Gerry are lovely hosts. He traveled up the mountain to the Santa Fe National park (revamped just a year or so ago) and secured us a spot. We are under the tall ponderosa pines and other evergreens. From the desert floor to this beautiful place is truly a transformation. Our cabin is paying off.. $5. a night in Santa Fe!! (with our Golden Eagle card)

They have wined and dined us first in the center of old town in a lovely garden patio at the Casa Sena. Coffee after with red velvet cake at Plaza Cafe where we parted until tomorrow. We walked around town again on Friday and lunched at a terrific place called the Flying Star. They serve the freshest of food all meals all day and night. We all went home and met for fantastic dinner at Osteria. The owner loves Gerry, as do most everyong we met along the way, and took care of our table ourselves!

A leisurely walk through the streets while we bopped in and out of stores and beautiful hotels till we called it a night at ‘our place’ with Smores Santa Fe 015over our open fire with wood that Gerry and Danielle provided.
Danielle has been battling (a good fighter she is) cancer for the past 4 years. They are a young and beautiful couple. Her dad and mom are good friends from Grass Valley.
After a frustrating day of trying to figure what was wrong with the cabin and why the lights wouldn’t work, or the fridge, or the water pump, on it goes, we discovered amid a thunder and rain storm that it is a fuse. we are on our way home now to install the new one and live happily ever after.
Ron bought me a lovely pair of turquoise earrings here on the Turquoise Trail from Indians who sell in front of the Palace across from the square in the center of town. I’m a happy woman!!
Tomorrow is his birthday and father’s day so I get a gift… how did that happen?
Isn’t he the sweetest you ever knew! He is to me.

  1. Hi Peggy and Ron,
It looks like I have been missing a lot of your adventures. I have gone back on your posts and just as I so enjoyed your Israel posts I am also enjoying your latest travels. God bless you both and thank you for “taking me along”. Your descriptions of what you are seeing and doing truly make me feel as though I am traveling with you.
