9 Easter Sunday
He is Risen!! He is Risen Indeed
We’ve enjoyed our Easter day as virtual grandparents. We have talked on Skype and oovoo with Sam with Max, Henry and Amelia in Portland, my brother Fred and his wife Pat in Columbus, Ohio, and Suze and Frank in Grass Valley. What fun is this.. Ruthie called with Easter greetings sounding happy after a wonderful day with friends and family.
It’s amazing how we can be relaxing here in the woods on-line with video call service. What next??
Salmon over the BBQ, mixed green salad and whole wheat penne rounded out our scrumptious Easter meal. Hard to imagine we have been out for five days without stopping at the store for supplies. We’re ‘simmerin’ down now’ to a bit of a routine. We’re adjusting to smaller quarters and wearing a jacket inside.
It has rained most of the day but in-between showers we take short walks. Keeping in touch with family and friends is truly a blessing.
We stayed here on Whidbey Island last night at the recommendation of new friends we met on Camano Island just south of here. It was a lovely park reminding us of Prospect Harbor, Maine in the Arcata area and Mt. Hermon with redwoods, tall firs and cedars.
Christie and Mike are from Bellingham and love to camp on week ends. We sat around their campfire at night enjoying warmth from the fire as well as good conversation. Christie ‘just happens’ to have started the Northwest Christian Speakers Bureau so we had a lot to talk about. As they left we were gifted with firewood for the next night. Sweet friends.
Another night at Deception Pass and then off to parts unknown… Like Dora in Nemo we ‘just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.’
Feeling so blessed by God we wish you a Good night.. Peggy and Ron
p.s. update
on the tarp people!! Ron reported that later as he walked Lil he saw the tarp was down. I asked the next morning… turns out that the 20×20 they had worked great but surely bigger would be better soooo they bought a 30×40. bigger isn’t always better.. they fought knocking rain off it so much that they decided to take it down and will get a 30×20 for their next trip out.
